Top five reasons to visit Puerto Vallarta | PV Inside Tours

Puerto Vallarta you are going to love it

Puerto Vallarta is a Mexican coastal resort that gained popularity among tourists after being featured in the 1964 film The Night of the Iguana. It is now a contemporary town with a vibrant nightlife and a popular tourist attraction.

Walking through the Romantic Zone and buying at the market is the best way to discover the city’s most passionate side. On the other hand, if you want to learn more about Puerto Vallarta’s modern side, we recommend checking out the bars and clubs along the Malecón and its environs.

The finest thing to do after visiting such beautiful places as Isla Cuale, the Naval Historical Museum, and the Belle Epoque architecture is to eat seafood in one of the city’s excellent restaurants.

The following are the top five reasons to visit Puerto Vallarta.

1. Mexican enchantment

This lovely city has the tiny cobblestone alleys and tile roofs that distinguish classic Mexican communities. The Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Saucedo Theater are two beautiful examples of early twentieth-century architecture.

2. Beautiful beaches

Puerto Vallarta is close to two magnificent beaches: Los Muertos, which features spectacular rock formations such as El Plpito and Las Pilitas, and Conchas Chinas, which is more private and calm. Los Arcos Marine Park, just over 10 kilometres south of the city, is a great place to go snorkelling and see pelicans.

3. From the vantage point of Cerro de la Cruz

The previously difficult and heavy entrances to the Cerro de la Cruz viewpoint have been restored and are now provided with chairs, umbrellas, handrails, and, in the final stretch, a funicular. The climb takes between 15 and 40 minutes, but the views from the summit are spectacular.

4. Open-air marketplaces

Souvenirs, handicrafts, and traditional apparel are available in the Isla Cuale and Municipal Cuale markets, both located near the Center. Buying jewellery or traditional clothing, as well as tasting street food, are recommended activities in the Pueblo Viejo neighbourhood.

5. Golf and cycling

Exploring the tropical beauty that surrounds Puerto Vallarta by bike is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, and the Marina Vallarta and Vista Vallarta golf clubs are excellent places to practise your swing.

Where to go in Puerto Vallarta and what to do

1. Take a stroll along the boardwalk

The Malecón is a pedestrian-only promenade that comes alive in the afternoon. Discover El Caballito de Mar and the sculptures of Sergio Bustamante, Alejandro Colunga, and other artists while sipping coffee in the area. Do you dare to go on the Day of the Dead to see it?

2. Learn about new marine nuances

The lush waters off the coast of Puerto Vallarta are home to lovely fishing villages where you may snorkel and sail between quiet bays. The Marietas islands and Los Arcos marine park lie a little further inland, with spectacular geological structures and aquatic life. Also, between December and March, you might be able to spot whales looking for a safe haven!

3. Visit Vallarta’s botanical garden.

The Vallarta Botanical Garden is a 26-hectare tropical ecosystem with amazing flora and wildlife. It has become world famous in just over a decade and provides a great day of serenity and delight.

4. Take a look around the Romantic Zone.

The Romantic Zone, Puerto Vallarta’s historic town, is usually bustling with locals and visitors. This outstanding environment includes its superb restaurants, the pier, and the Los Muertos beach. Moving on to Isla Cuale, where families of cats dwell between hanging bridges, will round up your stay.

5. Renew yourself in a one-of-a-kind church

The Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe is a key area landmark. Its interior offers an unrivalled sense of serenity and seclusion, with a clock tower visible from all directions and an unique ringing of bells.
